The program offered at CPM consists of a 6-10 week program that addresses the person as a whole. The patient is assessed by a team of professionals that includes a Psychologist, a Kinesiologist, a Physiotherapist, an RMT, and a Physician. Based on the findings of the assessment, an individualized program will be made for the patient, and the patient will be seen for the program 2-3 days per week for up to 3 hours each day. During that time, the patient will recieve functional restoration and psychological intervention as needed. The purpose of this goal-oriented program is to increase function and to address the specific disabilities that are affecting the vocational and avocational activities. The patient will be assessed on an ongoing basis, to ensure that the goals of the program and the milestones that they have set for themselves are met. Progress reports will be sent on a regular basis to the insurance company and to the patient’s doctor. Patients are ecouraged to work on their own at home and are given home exercises and assignments to do when they are not at the clinic.

Many chronic pain patients seek out a multitude of individual treatments (medication, physiotherapy, surgery) and still do not end up finding the results they were hoping for. At CPM, the Chronic Pain Management Program is designed to provide a multidisciplinary, comprehensive treatment approach using research based techniques to reduce pain, increase activity levels and return to maximum vocational functioning. 

Cost-Effectiveness
At CPM we believe that we are able to offer the most efficatious and cost-effective treatment for persons with chronic pain, relative to a host of widely used conventional medical treatment. All of our services are not OHIP-covered, but are covered by most private, WSIB, and automobile insurance providers.
